Q. 5-under par round of 65. Excellent round. If we can get some comments on your play.
PIERCESON COODY: Yeah, the putter's been good to me. Something I've kind of had to rely on all season. It was nice to see some of my wedge shots and approach shots kind of end up in a spot that I could roll a few extra birdies in. Yeah, just looking forward to hopefully some consistent ball striking this weekend.
Q. Talk us through the last three.
PIERCESON COODY: Yeah, after those storms kind of blew away, the wind seemed to go with it and I made probably about a nice 30- or 40-footer on 16.
Then 17 and 18 with not a lot of wind are relatively simple holes. I was aggressive off the tee on both holes and gave myself 125 and 135 yards in and hit both those shots to relatively gimmie. So, yeah, nice to be aggressive off the tee and hit the wedge shot close.
Q. How will it feel to sleep on T-2 going into the weekend?
PIERCESON COODY: It's a nice feeling because the season hasn't been what I wanted it to this year, and to know that my game's going the right direction, it's great. I'm trying to stay kind of in a process mindset with everything and just build because I know I have still a lot of events left and an opportunity to go win the tournament is a great feeling. Yeah, I'm pleased with where I'm heading.
Q. You might know that your grandfather was his first exposure to tournament golf was right here when he was 14 years old. This place is very special to him. He's an honorary member, yes?
PIERCESON COODY: Yes.
Q. It must feel really grand to do this while he's here and your grandmother and your dad?
PIERCESON COODY: For sure. Without his kind of connections to TCU, Colonial and that you will stuff I don't know if I would be standing right here, because I got a sponsor invite this week. My status wasn't good enough to get in on my number. So, yeah, I owe a lot to the tournament and to just my granddad for kind of having the relationships that he does and allowing me to play and I'm just happy that I'm taking advantage of the opportunity.
