THE MODERATOR: Bogey-free 63. What did you like about your round today?
MATTI SCMID: Yeah, I would say it was just a very solid round of golf. Started off hot. Had a couple of good breaks on the rough. I gauged the distance right, and I mean, I just played quality golf from there on, I would say.
THE MODERATOR: You mentioned yesterday your putter was hot. It was today. Is there anything you've been working on lately?
MATTI SCMID: No. I mean, I feel like the game has been solid for a while. We did work. We always work on something. That's just golf, but no, it was just a continuation of the solid play over the last couple of months, I would say.
THE MODERATOR: Warm conditions all this week. Course started to firm up. What are we going to see from this course throughout the weekend?
MATTI SCMID: Well, I mean, it's getting really tricky. If you come out of the rough, it's just really tough to predict how the ball is going to come out, how it's going to react on the greens.
Yeah, I mean, if you are on the fairway, you can still shoot a score. If you hit the rough too many times, it's going to be a challenge.
THE MODERATOR: Any birdies of the day stick out in particular?
MATTI SCMID: Well, 10 was a really nice one to start out. 11 was a bit lucky. 15 I hit the grandstand. It was the play, so that was definitely a bonus.
