Quick Quotes

Q. J.J., tougher conditions today, but still 2-under, solid day for you. Talk about what you saw out there.

J.J. SPAUN: Yeah, the course played a lot tougher with the wind, so it was just hard to get the wind right. I think I hit a couple iron shots a lot further than anticipated. I think everyone's struggled with that and I think that's why the scores weren't too low. I think Eric played really well, but I don't know when he teed off so maybe it wasn't as windy. Yeah, you had to kind of be in control of your ball today.

Q. You're two back from the lead heading into the final round. Do you prefer to be chasing or do you like to have a lead and a little bit of a cushion?

J.J. SPAUN: I mean, I think leading is always a good thing, especially if you have like a couple shots to play with, you're kind of already separating yourself. As long as I have a chance on the back nine, if I'm one or two back going into the back nine I still think I have a chance. Only being two back right now you can make that up so quickly around here with some of these holes if the conditions are like today as well.

Q. You already have a win this season, and in Texas, do you think that helps with your confidence or do you just feel more comfortable being in a position like this going into the final round in contention?

J.J. SPAUN: Yeah, I feel comfortable. I like playing in Texas, obviously. I think the wind kind of suits me. These kind of tight golf courses like here and at the Valero Texas Open over at TPC San Antonio are pretty similar, like tee to green where you got to hit it straight. So fairways are a premium, that way you can control your ball on the greens, and, yeah, I mean, I got good vibes in Texas, so hopefully keep it going tomorrow.
