Quick Quotes

Q. A slow start; front nine didn't do you any favors but you got going after that. Talk about your round and maybe getting some good feelings the last nine holes.

STEVE STRICKER: Yeah, it was an early wake-up call for one. I'm not used to getting up at 5:00 in the morning anymore to play, and I kind of played like I was still asleep for a while. You know, righted the ship a little bit. Played well on my second nine, which was the front. Had a number of opportunities on that side. Made three of them but had about three more that were real makeable.

A little disappointed that I didn't capitalize on a few more of those coming in especially, and kind of put me behind the 8-ball. I was hoping to get off to a better start today. Such as it is I'll have to come back tomorrow and hopefully put up a good number.

Q. You know about this weather, it's been a weird one, but tons of rain and then this feels like football weather. How are the conditions out there, wind, the course playing? It's been weird.

STEVE STRICKER: Yeah, no, the conditions of the course are great. It's a little softer this morning when we played. Probably I imagine it rained out here yesterday a little bit. But you get that north wind, the ball is not traveling as far. Usually it's drier, but it's in great shape. The greens are great. Fairways are in great shape.

You know, I've played enough around here in that wind to make the adjustments. Everybody is good enough to make those adjustments. It's just hitting some different clubs off some of the different holes, and just trying to get it to the spot where you normally hit it.
