Quick Quotes

Q. How comfortable was it for you to find the scoring opportunities on the back nine?

SEBASTIÁN MUÑOZ: It was huge. We could see on the leaderboard that people were going low, and you didn't want to kind of fade into the leaderboard, so it was really important to birdie 11, 13 and 16 coming in, so it was nice to be in the position I am right now.

Q. You mentioned the leaderboard; how hard is it not to get too caught up in that and just focus on what you're doing while everyone else does what they're doing?

SEBASTIÁN MUÑOZ: Yeah, I was thinking today about it on the course and how different would it be if no one knew what anyone was doing. But I just -- I don't know, I saw that I was doing all right, that I was a couple birdies up, being in the lead, and once I got to the lead, I just tried to stay there.

Q. Did that give you some extra motivation?

SEBASTIÁN MUÑOZ: Yeah, of course. As soon as you see that you're not in those first couple names, then you try to make a couple birdies to make it happen again.

Q. You're in good position; how important is that going into Sunday?

SEBASTIÁN MUÑOZ: It's huge. Every shot counts, and having every extra one for tomorrow might help me out a lot.

Q. (Indiscernible.)

SEBASTIÁN MUÑOZ: Yeah, momentum is a huge thing. I feel like I ride it pretty good. Once I see a ball go in or a good swing, I tend to ride it for a couple more holes. It's something that's always been in me, and hoping for it a little bit tomorrow.

Q. What will you do to stay sharp? You had a great opening round, 1-under par in your second round. What will you do to be ready for tomorrow?

SEBASTIÁN MUÑOZ: Yeah, I've always been -- well, I like to believe that I'm someone that can put perspective on things, like for example, I just compared it to last week, that I feel pretty good about myself but I didn't quite perform at all.

So this week having the ball roll in, having the momentum going my way, I'm just riding it, taking advantage of it, don't take it for granted, so that's what I've been doing.

Q. You were talking about watching the leaderboard and seeing the chaos that was going on there. That adds one layer to your round of golf. How tough was it with the weather conditions to keep things --

SEBASTIÁN MUÑOZ: It was tough, definitely, especially the front nine. It seemed like we were scrambling with the umbrella, the towel, trying to keep the club face dry. It was just take your time and do the best you can and hope for the best, as well. It was key that we got a good round under those conditions, and that's something that's going to help.

Q. How will it feel sleeping on the lead tonight?

SEBASTIÁN MUÑOZ: I've done it in the past, so I think I'll do fine. I've got my routine pretty much down, so we'll see how it goes.

Q. When you've been in the 54-hole lead before, were you comfortable on the course the next day?

SEBASTIÁN MUÑOZ: Yeah, yeah. I mean, the way I see it, you're going to go to the course anyway, so might as well be with a good attitude and try to keep yourself in the present, in the moment and not go in the past or the future. That's been working.
