Q. Congratulations. What does it mean to you to qualify for that spot at The Open?
EMILIANO GRILLO: Yeah, I wouldn't put The Open as Top 3 goals for this week, but it's nice, it's a bonus.
I get to go home first, recharge the batteries, and then I'm heading to The Open Championship in St. Andrews. That's very special. It's Top 3 places to play golf in the world, and I'm definitely looking forward to it.
Q. Was that on your mind heading into this morning, I guess kind of throughout your round today?
EMILIANO GRILLO: Not really. I just knew I needed a solid week. I just needed to play well and go up the rankings and have a job for next year. That was more important for me than going to The Open; now I get both, so that's pretty special.
Q. You mentioned Top 3 goals -- Open not being one of the Top 3 goals for this week. What were the Top 3 goals?
EMILIANO GRILLO: Definitely first come here and win. Every week is a chance to win and you want to make the most of it.
I would say second was going up in the world rankings. I'm pretty far behind. I would like to play the majors next year and qualify on my own and not wait until last second.
And then third was get a job for next year, so those are Top 3.
Q. (Regarding FedExCup.)
EMILIANO GRILLO: Yeah, you know, all year. It would be lying if I wouldn't tell you that I knew where I was standing and what I needed to do.
I'm just happy to -- just a happy to go home tonight or tomorrow and not play next week. That's actually nice.
Q. Nice jump in the FedExCup points. How satisfying is it for you to pretty much have your card set for next year?
EMILIANO GRILLO: It definitely feels different. You can look at the rest of the schedule in a different way and go from a there.
Obviously for me I'm just focusing on going home, recharge batteries, and get ready for a special week at The Open.
Q. There was as many as four or five guys tied for the third Open spot, even with three or four holes left. Your birdie on 17 pushed you over the top. How big was that to get birdie at the end and save par here at 18?
EMILIANO GRILLO: Yeah, I mean, I was looking for a little bit more. You know, bogey on 14, that definitely killed the momentum. That was it. That was it for me, to be honest.
J.T. was playing really well and I was basically depending on his makes and not so much on my game. I knew I could only do so much, and I was able to get a birdie on 17 to basically get into The Open.
Q. You played really well this week; second place finish. How can you use this a confidence booster heading into The Open?
EMILIANO GRILLO: Well, it's everything now. Schedule changes. You can play a little bit more freed up and kind of do the same. Obviously the game is trending in the right direction, so just got to keep doing the same stuff.
Q. Have you played at St. Andrews?
EMILIANO GRILLO: Yeah, played Dunhill Links a few times on the European Tour.
