Q. Jacob, Lucas talked about how you fed off each other a little bit. Obviously a day everybody was going low. Do you pay any attention to the boards?
JACOB BRIDGEMAN: Yeah, I always like to look. I like to know where I'm at, what I need to do. I was looking a little bit.
I think me and Lucas were both probably a little bit out of range to catch the leaders because there is a bunch of birdies out there, but I was looking and I don't know about him, but we definitely fed off each other.
He had it going on the front; I got to going on the back, and we just exchanged some birdies. It was fun.
Q. You are going to jump into maybe the Top 20 in the points standing. You've had three Top 5s this year; could get another one here. What's the season been like for you?
JACOB BRIDGEMAN: Yeah, been a lot of fun from last year. I played okay. Was kind of getting to know all the courses, figuring out how to travel, which tournaments I wanted to go to. This year I know a little better and I'm more comfortable and I know all the guys a little bit more.
I feel more at ease and like I can just play golf and not have to worry too much about all the extras. It's been fun. Had some good finishes this year, some really good golf. Not too much the last month or two, so looking forward to feeding off this one.
Q. I think three straight 68s to start this week, and then really good round today. Is there something specifically that you like about this golf course? You didn't make the cut last year, but pretty solid week this year.
JACOB BRIDGEMAN: Yeah, last year, if you'd asked me last year i would've said I don't like it. It seemed like all the tee shots made me uncomfortable. Last year I wasn't hitting my tee ball very good; the driver was kind of wonky.
This year I felt good coming into it. I played okay the first three days; just scrambled my way around and shot 3-under every day like you said. Wasn't anything special.
Today I knew it would be a little easier with the rain we got and pretty calm conditions, and took advantage.
Q. Moving forward now, talk about goals for the rest of the season. What do you look for the last three or for weeks before the Playoffs?
JACOB BRIDGEMAN: Yeah, I guess the number one goal is to try and get in The Open. Next week I got a chance to try and do that. After that if I get in, great. If I don't, I'm going to shift focus to the Playoffs and try to make TOUR Championship. That's my number one goal.
Q. You're 25, one of the younger guys on TOUR, but there are quite a few out here even younger than you. That's kind of been a story all week. Can you speak to that and the youth of this game?
JACOB BRIDGEMAN: Yeah, guys are coming out of college better than I was. They're ready to go, ready to play. You saw that with amateurs this year and last year. Guys are top 10 like it's easy. So guys are ready to play at 18, 19, 20 years old.
It's just a shift. Used to be seemed like golfer's prime was mid-30s and now I think it's going back to mid-20s, maybe upper-20s.
Guys are just ready to go earlier. I don't know if that stems from colleges doing a better job or coaching. Yeah, everybody is really good at an early age for sure.
Q. You were second in the PGA TOUR U standings just a couple years ago. What separates -- I mean, how would you assess your readiness and what the difference is between Jackson Koivun out here right now?
JACOB BRIDGEMAN: Yeah, I was really good in college. I had good success, but I didn't really play many TOUR events like some of these guys are doing now as an amateur. I played one, and didn't do any good.
When I got out of school, it's a lot all at one time. You got to figure out how to be a professional and you're thrown right into the fire. I took a year on the Korn Ferry and figured that out, got my feet under me, and then even last year I didn't think I was ready to compete. I was just trying to figure out what I needed to do to keep my TOUR card.
This year I think the mindset has changed a little bit. I feel comfortable, I feel ready to go, and trying to win tournaments now.
Q. Three Top 5s this year, maybe a fourth if your score holds today. Do you feel like that first win is around the corner?
JACOB BRIDGEMAN: I hope so. My game is definitely good enough. Hopefully I can piece it all together one week and play four good rounds and come out on top, yeah. I hope so.
Q. You said next week. What's next week?
JACOB BRIDGEMAN: Scottish, yeah.
Q. Are you on the charter?
JACOB BRIDGEMAN: I am, yeah, tonight.
Q. When you get going on the back nine like that, do you have to kind of temper the approach and make sure you don't get over-excited and try to get too much out of the round?
JACOB BRIDGEMAN: There is probably at some point there is too much, being too aggressive, but when you get on runs like that where you're swinging it and hitting exactly where you're looking, you got to just try and aim at the hole. Especially a course like this. There are just birdies to be had.
When you're hitting it straight and everything is coming out flush, you got to just attack, attack. Lucas and I did a pretty good job of that the whole day, mainly the back for me.
Just when we see a pretty good opportunity, just trying to hit it as close as we can and make a ton of birdies.
