Q. Jon, summarize your round, how it was out there today?
JON RAHM: Couple up-and-downs. Didn't feel my best today. Felt like it was a very good round of golf pretty much for anybody, except two moments. Even if you just take 11 out of the equation, that was a good tee shot, misjudged the wind and ended up with a double. And then hit it in the water on 18 again. 2-under today is a very, very, very, very respectable score.
I was happy how I was saving some pars, keeping the round going. Stinks to have four mistakes like that in the back nine and finish bogeybogey. I didn't shoot myself out of the tournament. I'm only five back. And I can only imagine Jack is going to get this place a little bit more difficult each day. Hopefully tomorrow I can post a good low score in the 60s and give myself a chance for the weekend.
Q. Do you think about the mistakes more than the good things you did when you leave here or do you not think about it?
JON RAHM: It was a lot of good things. I made a lot of great putts. I mean, after that double on 11, made birdie on 12, 14, and 15, had a chance on 16. I played those holes really well. And even the bogey on 17, I didn't really miss a shot. It's just -- this wind is streaky and those are some small targets out there. And with the rough the way they have it, you can end up with some tricky situations like mine on 17. Ball waist high up hill wasn't not the easiest chip. I'll remember the positives obviously.
There's a couple fairway wood shots that weren't great and hopefully I can tidy that up tomorrow.
Q. It was soft in the morning. Was it by any chance soft this afternoon?
JON RAHM: It was. It might have gotten a little firmer, but it was accessible. It was accessible. Obviously I think at least -- well, at least it looked like it was a little bit windier for us for most of the day. The score is out there. Shane shot 69. You could shoot, 3, 4, 5-under today playing good golf today obviously. But it might have been a little tricky. I didn't really watch much in the morning.
