Q. How would you assess the round?
LUKE LIST: Roller coaster. Didn't have my best stuff today. But fought hard anyway. And kind of a mixed bag, really, had some good and some bad stuff and kind of put it together. To get under par, I was happy with that.
Q. How did you find the golf course condition-wise? Is it still fairly soft? Do you think it might have been firming up a little bit as the afternoon went along?
LUKE LIST: For sure. The conditions will -- the next couple of days will definitely dry it out to where we saw it in the practice rounds. Ball started bouncing on the greens pretty early in the round. I think that's only going to continue.
Q. You've played tough golf courses as well, obviously winning in San Diego. What is it about the tougher golf course conditions that kind of maybe peaked your game a little bit?
LUKE LIST: Like on most of the tough golf courses, if you drive it in the fairway and hit it on the green and kind of play boring golf, which I don't always do, but today I knew I can make some birdies. Whenever I make mistakes, it was like, okay, you can definitely complement it with some birdies.
But tough golf courses, I think that par goes a long way in certain holes, and I think traditionally I have ability to do that pretty well.
Q. If you were to pick one thing you need to focus on the next two days to be in contention late on Sunday, what would that be?
LUKE LIST: Getting in the fairway. Struggled a little bit off the tee a little bit today. That makes a golf course really tough when you're scrambling from bunkers from the rough and it's no fun. So getting it in the fairway on the weekend.
