Q. Pleased with the 2-under par 70 to start it off?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Yeah, I felt like I scored pretty well. If I want to keep doing that, I'll have to be a little sharper the next few days, but overall, a good job posting a score. Yeah, 2-under on this place any day is pretty good.
Q. What do you feel needs to be a little sharper?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I need to give myself some more looks. I felt like I was out of the fairway a bit too much today. I was able to hit a decent amount of greens, just giving myself a few more quality looks, I think, would be a big difference.
Q. When you're on a stretch like this, obviously, winning the PGA, playing last week and playing, obviously, very well and coming here again, another tough test, how do you keep up your energy?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Yeah, I would say my schedule last week and this week's been a bit different than it would normally be. Last week I went out only on Wednesday. I took Monday and Tuesday off. I only did the nine hole pro-am and I didn't really practice much outside of that. Definitely no practice after the round or anything like that. This week -- I wasn't really in the midst of it on Sunday, I was a little bit on the outside looking in, so it wasn't as strenuous. I still had a decent finish, but I was a little bit -- I had to have a pretty big back nine if I wanted to give myself a chance, and I wasn't able to do that. But then I got some rest on Monday, you know, and then had two days of practice here. So I would say last week was a bit of a different schedule, this week's more of the same.
Q. Do you like how difficult this test is as we go towards the U.S. Open here in a couple weeks?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Yeah, I mean, this place is going to show you what you need to work on going forward, for sure. Oakmont's another golf course like that as well. I love the good test that we get out here, and this is definitely one of the sharper tests that we see throughout the year.
Q. What do you feel like tomorrow you have to do just a little bit better to maybe post another good number and keep yourself in contention?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I did a really good job today of scoring, and going into tomorrow I'll just try and give myself some more quality looks. I felt I hit a decent amount of greens, but wasn't hit hitting it as close as I hoped to. I made a sloppy bogey on 13, but overall I was pretty pleased with the results. Had two good up-and-downs on 17 and 18, and a really good birdie on 16, so overall pleased with how I finished.
