Q. How would you assess the day?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Yeah, solid day. If I holed a few more putts probably would have been a little bit of a different score. I felt like I was hitting my lines out there and did a good job of -- hit lot more fairways today. Definitely felt better with my ball striking. So overall, 2-under in these conditions was definitely not a bad score today.
Q. You talked about being proud of posting a good score yesterday. Do you feel like you hit the ball better than you posted today?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Yeah, I mean, I had some good looks on the front nine that I didn't hole, but on the back, I rolled it really nice. Yeah, outside of -- you know, I think I was 1-under through 10 after a sloppy double on 10, and then I played pretty good from there to the house to get to that 2-under.
Q. Are you carrying a 7-wood?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Yeah.
Q. How is that working for you out of this rough?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: At times really good. Sometimes the lie is just too bad to where you can't get it out.
Q. What did you have on 10?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Just a terrible lie. If there was more rough in front of me, I would have maybe tried to hit, like, an 8-iron or something, hack it down the fairway, but it felt like it was worth the risk to try and pop it out of there with the 5-wood. The worst that was going to happen was the ball was going to end up where it did.
Q. What was working for you early?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I holed a nice birdie putt there on 1, hit it in there close on 3, hit two good shots on 5. Really a lot of good ball striking on the front nine to kind of get me a good score there.
Q. How tough are the conditions with the rain and cold and all that?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Yeah, I mean, the golf course is playing really long. It's a very challenging golf course. When the rough gets this wet, any time you hit it in the rough, the lies are going to be really bad and it's going to be really challenging. So it's definitely important to keep the ball in play and try and stay dry.
Q. Once again you showed bounce back ability after the double, two birdies. Can you just talk about the mentality of putting that aside and making some good swings?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Yeah, unfortunately I doubled the hole before a par-5, which always helps (laughing). No, just, I mean, what am I going to do on 11 to affect what happened on 10? So if I get up there and make a poor swing because I'm frustrated, that's going to make me even more frustrated, so I might as well try and make a good swing. It's really just as simple as that.
Q. Curious what you hit on 1. What iron.
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: 5-iron.
Q. What did you hit yesterday?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Full 5-iron. I hit a small 9-iron yesterday. It was a little downwind yesterday though.
Q. Are you following the NBA playoffs at all?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: No, not since the Mavs didn't make it.
Q. Do you know who you want to win the Finals?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: The Mavericks. (Laughing).
Q. You'll have to wait awhile.
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Yeah. First pick.
