THE MODERATOR: We would like to welcome Chez Reavie, the 2022 winner of the Barracuda Championship, to the interview room.
Kind of recap last year, some highlights and how it feels to be back defending.
CHEZ REAVIE: Yeah, it's great. The weather is very similar to last year. Playing out here the last two days the numbers with all my clubs were very similar to last year. The course is in great shape. Little softer right now than last year, but I think it will firm up by the weekend. So, yeah, it's going to be another great week.
THE MODERATOR: And you had talked about -- walking over you talked about you're feeling good, you're going to be playing all way through. Coming off a really good finish in Hartford with back-to-back 63s in rounds two and three. And a elevated event, which makes it even more special. Just a few thoughts on that and kind of how that is hopefully kind of helping you ramp up for the rest of the season.
CHEZ REAVIE: Yeah, I've been hitting the ball well now for a few months. Finally got the putter working. That was kind of the difference at Hartford. I didn't putt great on Sunday, but I putted well the three days prior to that. So I worked hard on it last week with the week off and, yeah, looking for another great week.
THE MODERATOR: Okay.
Q. I played this course a couple days ago and seems like a really unique setup, kind of well suited for Stableford. Wanted to get your thoughts on this place in particular.
CHEZ REAVIE: Yeah, it's a great golf course for Stableford. A lot of risk/reward holes and with the format it's going to make guys want to play more aggressive, which is fun to watch and it's fun for to us play. If we do make a mistake we don't get punished as much for it. So, yeah, we're rewarded to play really aggressive and the guys will this week, for sure.
Q. What about this area? Where are you staying and what do you love about coming to Tahoe each year?
CHEZ REAVIE: Yeah, it's just great. I was in Arizona last week, it was 118 degrees, so you didn't even want to be out side. Now you come here -- and I know it's warm for here, but for me it's not at all and I just want to be outside all day long. I love it here. We rented a house here in Truckee and I got a couple other players and our wives are with us so we're kind of hanging out and really enjoying it.
THE MODERATOR: You said you're playing on from here, you'll be in Minneapolis next week and just trying to work your way up in FedExCup? Is that the plan, obviously?
CHEZ REAVIE: Exactly. I'm going to keep playing until they tell me I can't play anymore. So I'm looking forward to it and playing well, so hopefully I can make a good run here.
THE MODERATOR: All right. Thank you.
