THE MODERATOR: What a difference a day makes. 5 yesterday, 16 today. Seven birdies and an eagle. Just a couple comments on the day.
ZECHENG DOU: I played really well until 17, 18. But I started off yesterday at minus 4 and getting back to plus 20ish is already pretty good. Hit the ball better today than yesterday. Just yesterday I just kept grinding. But this is a tournament where a lot of birdies will be better. Because five birdies and five bogeys evens out to five points. Which is better for me because I make a lot of birdies and a lot of bogeys.
Today I got it all out. I made an eagle, which is worth five points. Which is pretty huge. Then, yeah, nothing special, just keep making birdies and grinding.
THE MODERATOR: How much adjustment has there been with the altitude? Is it a major thing or is it the kind of thing where you just get here, you do your homework and you're fine?
ZECHENG DOU: So I put in a device, a Trackman, and on the range to try to kind of see how far I'm hitting. Then going with the wind. It's about 10 percent when it's like this warm. This morning it was probably about five. Everybody's should be different, because it depends how high you hit it. Like pitching wedge goes further because it goes higher. It did make a little difference, but once you get down the notes you just kind of go with that number this week and then reset next week kind of thing.
