Q. +8 on the day. How do you feel about the third round?
RICO HOEY: It was okay. Struggled early but kind of caught fire on the back, so it was nice to end that way.
Yeah, not too bad.
Q. What do you do mentality-wise to turn it over after bogey and then went on a birdie streak?
RICO HOEY: I just was praying the putter would get hot because the putter was really cold. No, I just kept sticking to the game plan. I felt like I was hitting it well, doing things well. A little bit nervous I guess.
Once I kind of settled in it was nice. Kept it rolling. Erik was playing great, so it was nice to get into a rhythm with him.
Q. Playing in the final round, were there nerves?
RICO HOEY: Of course. I mean, we're here, not at the British. Every point matters. Yeah, there was some nerves.
Q. What did you learn to calm the nerves that may be in play tomorrow?
RICO HOEY: I don't know, honestly. I have no clue. I'm still pretty nervous. I'll probably be really nervous tomorrow. Yeah, I think for me just keep believing in myself and see what happens.
Q. Any big takeaways from the win on Korn Ferry TOUR, being in contention that you learned from that?
RICO HOEY: Yeah, a little bit. Every year is a little bit different mentality-wise, game-wise. Just going to channel into that and just know I'm a good player and whatever happens, happens.
