Quick Quotes

THE MODERATOR: Out early in the morning. Posting 17 for first round. How are you feeling about it?

BEAU HOSSLER: Yeah, it was a good start. Two eagles on the card is nice. Extra point on that. So I'm really happy with it. Hit it well. Felt like I putted okay and got a few to go.

THE MODERATOR: Talk us through the hole-in-one.

BEAU HOSSLER: Yeah, I was kind of in between clubs. I think it was like 211, but at altitude it's playing like 190. I hit 7-iron and it landed in a good spot and it went in. It looked like it was the only hole on TOUR this year that had no camera.

THE MODERATOR: What hole-in-one for you is that? Have you had others?

BEAU HOSSLER: Yeah. I mean, I don't know. 14, maybe. It's been awhile though. And I haven't had one in a tournament.

THE MODERATOR: First one on TOUR.

BEAU HOSSLER: I think it is, yeah. I don't know that I've made one in the tournament elsewhere either. But, yeah, I haven't had one probably in four, five years.

THE MODERATOR: You able to play more aggressive with this format? Does the game plan change at all?

BEAU HOSSLER: I think you can. Yeah, I mean, yes. Especially on this course. Like, if you get the ball in play off the tee you can be pretty aggressive. The greens are pretty receptive. I think the biggest challenge right now for us is just the calculation of the altitude. Particularly like when you tee off early and it's a little bit chilly in the morning it's an adjustment kind of in the middle of the round. So today we did a really nice job of it. If you can get it in play you have a lot of wedges. So hopefully I can keep doing that and keep getting some pretty good looks after getting it in play off the tee.

THE MODERATOR: Any changes for tomorrow's afternoon round?

BEAU HOSSLER: No, just kind of take what the course gives you. It can blow pretty hard here in the afternoon. I don't know if it's scheduled to or not. But if it does, the course gets significantly harder. So try and take advantage where you can. Ideally get the par-5s, get a few of the shorter par-4s with wedges in your hand and see what you can do.

THE MODERATOR: Right around that 70 mark, final couple three events playing. How are you feeling for the final three events?

BEAU HOSSLER: I feel good. My game feels probably the best it's felt in years right now, which is good. Maybe the results haven't quite been there the last few weeks, but I feel like I'm working on some good stuff with my golf swing. Starting to see some a lot better iron play the last probably two weeks. So, hopefully, I can keep doing that and get the putter hot.

THE MODERATOR: Did you say it was iron play you've been working on?

BEAU HOSSLER: I've been working on it for years, but it seems like it's trending the last couple weeks.
