Q. How would you assess the round out there?
PATRICK CANTLAY: I thought I played really hard today. I don't think it's normal for it to be that windy that early, but it was soft. So if you hit good shots, you would be rewarded. I just tried to hit smart shots all day and hit a lot of really nice shots, controlled my golf ball, and made a couple putts.
Q. With this golf course, what was the toughest part with the wind today?
PATRICK CANTLAY: I think just there's a few shots, like the tee shot on 5 is really, really important because there's nowhere to miss. There's a few iron shots where you have to hit it inside a 20 or 25-foot circle because there's no great place to leave it because the greens are so sectioned. When it's windy like this, it's a little harder to control your golf ball and get it in those spots.
I managed to do pretty well today. Not perfect, but a really nice start.
Q. I was going to ask Pat what you would ask you after a day like this.
PATRICK CANTLAY: I don't know. I don't think I'd be very good at your job.
