Q. Daniel, solid start to the round today. What were the key takeaways to keep a bogey-free round?
DANIEL BERGER: I hit a lot of fairways and I hit a lot of greens and kind of stayed patient out there. But there's a lot of scoring opportunities, so I just need to take a little bit better advantage when I hit it close.
Q. Just curious how unique is this event given where it falls in the season and so much at stake, whether it's top 30, Ryder Cup captain's picks and so forth?
DANIEL BERGER: Yeah, it's the event before the TOUR Championship, so you have an opportunity to move way up in the FedExCup. Regardless if it was here or somewhere else, it would still be very important.
You know, it's hot, so I'm comfortable with that. I'm from Florida. Yeah, it's a tough week in general.
Q. How does the pressure sort of compare to whether it's major championships or other big events on the TOUR?
DANIEL BERGER: Well, I think obviously a major is a major and a FedExCup Playoff event is a playoff event, so obviously the major is a little bit more important I would say. Yeah, look, you have an opportunity to move way up in the FedExCup, and you want to be in a good position going into the TOUR Championship to have a chance to win the TOUR Championship.
Every spot you move up is important.
Q. Is the Ryder Cup sort of front of your mind at this point or back of the mind?
DANIEL BERGER: You know, I think one week is not going to make a difference. I mean, it would make a difference, but I think it's going to be about how you played over the two years, and that's who he's going to pick at his captain's pick. Whatever happens happens.
