Q. Cameron, seven birdies today, four bogeys. If we can just get some comments on your round.
CAMERON YOUNG: Yeah, I think it was a little bit messy. Obviously I hit some very good shots and thankfully today they all ended up close to the hole. Sometimes I feel like you hit a bunch of good shots and have a lot of 20-footers, and today I was able to hit some close, and I think pretty much all my birdies came from hitting a wedge to inside of eight or nine feet.
Yeah, I think there was a lot of potential to shoot something a lot lower, but just was a little bit clumsy around the greens I felt like.
Q. Was it only around the greens you felt a little messy?
CAMERON YOUNG: That was most of it. I actually felt like I hit some mediocre putts early, but I felt like I putted well later in the round. I know I missed a few, but the putt I missed on 15 I hit a really nice putt, and the one on 18 I hit as good a putt as I could ask for.
But I feel like that kind of -- even though I didn't make them all, that kind of kept me in it mentally today, just to feel like I was rolling the ball well and giving myself chances.
Q. What were your goals at the beginning of the season?
CAMERON YOUNG: I have a list of them. I think I've checked off about one. Still got some work to do.
Q. With the season you've had, you've only checked off one?
CAMERON YOUNG: Well, a lot of them are year-end goals, so I kind of have to wait. Hopefully if I can do a few more of them, that would be nice.
Q. Is there one thing you feel like you have to do a little bit better over the weekend to keep yourself in contention coming back on Sunday?
CAMERON YOUNG: Yeah, I think I need to drive it a little bit better. I just didn't shape it as well off the tee today as I feel like I typically do or did yesterday. I only hit a few fairways yesterday, but I actually drove it better.
So that was a little frustrating today. I just wasn't playing from as good a places as I could have been. I need to go hit a couple balls and work on that stuff.
Q. Do you feel like the fairways are firming up a little bit?
CAMERON YOUNG: Yeah.
Q. Rory talked about dialing it back a little bit and maybe hitting some more fairway woods, or do you feel like you can still be aggressive with the driver?
CAMERON YOUNG: I think it depends. They are definitely getting firmer and harder to hold on some of the doglegs. It's something I'll probably have to think about tomorrow. There are some places I probably will hit 4-wood instead of driver. But a lot of it depends on the wind, too. There's certain holes where if you can hold it into the wind, it'll stop, and if the wind is blowing the wrong way, it's pretty impossible.
We'll kind of have to take it as it comes tomorrow and maybe pick some more conservative shots.
Q. Have you always been a goal setter?
CAMERON YOUNG: In some ways, yes. The last couple years I've written down some things at the beginning of the year. I feel like it just gives you some standards for yourself for the year.
Q. How many boxes would you check off if you were to win this week?
CAMERON YOUNG: There would be a couple, yeah.
Q. How many do you think overall you have?
CAMERON YOUNG: One of them is make it to the TOUR Championship. I think actually that might not be right. I think if I keep playing the way I am, I'll check off most of them.
Q. Were there like five or ten or --
CAMERON YOUNG: Probably eight or nine, yeah.
