Q. Viktor, 6-under 65. Great round. Talk us through that great start with the chip-in on 1 and the ace on 2 and the long birdie putt on 6.
VIKTOR HOVLAND: Yeah, that was a good way to start the day, that's for sure. Hit a nice drive on 1, pretty awful wedge shot to be honest. Hit it in the bunker. Holed that bunker shot for the fourth birdie on No. 1 this week. Was off to a nice start.
Hit a perfect 6-iron on 2 that happened to go in the hole, so it was a nice start to the day.
Q. How much fun is it to close out a tournament with a couple of birdies and finish the week that way?
VIKTOR HOVLAND: Yeah, it's a little bittersweet because I played so bad this week. But no matter what the results are, it's always nice to just feel like you're on the right track. Today was definitely a good step in the right direction. Yeah, hopefully I can get some momentum going into next week.
Q. It has been an up-and-down week for you, and you mentioned needing to find some consistency. Did you find that today? What sort of clicked for you to shoot the score that you did?
VIKTOR HOVLAND: It was one of those, I hit a lot of good shots, and I was rewarded for those shots, which is always nice. The few times I was out of position or where I hit a bad shot, I kind of got away with it and would hit a next good shot. So I bounced back very well.
At the end of the day, it still doesn't feel entirely comfortable out there on certain tee shots and certain shots that I need to just kind of figure out a little bit, but it's definitely on the right track.
Q. You've all but locked up your third straight trip to the TOUR Championship. How important was it to play well today and go into next week with some momentum?
VIKTOR HOVLAND: Yeah, no matter where you're at, it's no fun playing bad. Even though in the grand scheme of things, this round doesn't matter that much, you're always trying to go out there and do the best you can. Maybe if you find something, that can spur you on to great things going forward. Hopefully that's one of those moments.
Q. Something that really matters, you learned when you came out of scoring that your hole-in-one benefits a young Evans Scholar. Can you just talk about the meaningfulness of that and how good it feels for you to be able to do that for somebody?
VIKTOR HOVLAND: Yeah, I mean, that's incredible. That hole-in-one obviously was nice for me, and it helped me out a little bit, but it didn't move me up the leaderboard that much. For it to actually mean something is really cool. I hope that goes a long ways.
