Quick Quotes

Q. What's it been like to play here in a home crowd this week?

WYNDHAM CLARK: Yeah, it's been amazing. Denver showed out great. I had tons of support. It was all in all an amazing week with all the support and friends coming out and all the love I felt.

Q. You were going okay after you made those back-to-back birdies, then you missed that small putt on 14 and then doubled 17. Evaluate the par-5 issues this week.

WYNDHAM CLARK: I mean, altitude golf is very hard to control the ball. Sometimes it gets a little goofy trying to control your distance. That's all I've got to say on that.

I didn't make many putts. It's tough to play at altitude.

Q. When the 17th goes like that but people still love you and want to high five you, what's that like?

WYNDHAM CLARK: Yeah, it was nice that they were showing me love. Obviously I really screwed up the tournament on that hole. But it was nice to have the love from the home crowd.

Q. You posted that you were going to make that donation last night. Tell us --

WYNDHAM CLARK: Yeah, for that one specifically, it would be for local charities, mainly people dealing with breast cancer, families dealing with breast cancer. We're going to do the research of which one we want to give it to, and we'll announce where we're going to give it, but I want to do it to the local Denver community.

Q. Just recap the week and how you're feeling going into next week.

WYNDHAM CLARK: Yeah, I mean, I just need to score the ball better. It's very frustrating because my game is really good. I'm just not getting much out of it.

It would be nice next week to time that correctly and start scoring on the par-5s, and when I have putts inside 10 feet, make them.

I feel like I'm playing good golf, so I'm hoping I can just time it up next week.

Q. What was the off-course highlight of the weekend with all the distractions and fans and family?

WYNDHAM CLARK: Off-the-course highlight was just being around friends and family to be honest. Had a couple dinners with close friends, and tonight we'll have one, too. That's probably the most exciting thing that I had this week.

Q. Any pinch-me moments? When Derrick is following you around it's hard to top that.

WYNDHAM CLARK: No, it's really cool. It's awesome that Derrick was following me around. I love that I got to see my friends and family more than anything and that they were able to watch me. Not all of them get to come out that often, so that was really neat, and it was really nice of Derrick to follow me, and it was a really cool moment, as well.

Q. Did the hype of waiting for this for two years live up to your expectations?

WYNDHAM CLARK: No, it was really cool. I'm bummed with my play. I wish I would have played better. But yeah, it was a great week.

Q. Do you sense from talking to some of the other players that they would like to come back to Colorado for events in the future?

WYNDHAM CLARK: I hope so. I mean, it's hard to play at altitude. That's going to be the common theme that everyone says outside of whoever wins this tournament. But even then, they'll probably say the same thing. We control our ball to the yard 90 percent of the time, and then you come here and it's like 40 percent of the time. It's just a guessing game. There's a lot of luck involved at altitude golf.

But with that said, Denver is a great sports town. This is a great golf course. The love and the support we feel from the fans here is amazing.

I would love for us to come back at least every few years or every other year or every year. It would be great to be able to come back here. I hope we do, and hopefully that happens.
