Quick Quotes

Q. Great playing today. 9-under. Could you walk us through some of the highlights of your round today.

AARON WISE: Yeah, the biggest highlight happened on my second hole of the day. I had a chip from short of the green and I chipped it over the green, kind of into a dead spot and was able to make that one coming back for par. I feel like that kind of set the tone for the day. It kept me positive.

And from there, I played some really solid golf. The wind was up this afternoon. It was playing a little tricky, but I made a bunch of kind of 10- to 15-footers, which kept my round going and helped me make a lot of birdies out there.

Q. You had a couple top-25s to end last season and a T-26 last week. Do you feel like your game is in a good spot right now coming into this week and then going into the weekend?

AARON WISE: Yeah, at the end of last year I took a little bit of time off. I put the clubs away for a couple weeks and then got things started.

Last week I felt maybe like I had some rust. I actually played pretty well through it and I'm starting to feel a little more comfortable with my game, kind of know where the ball's going, and found the putter today, which is really nice. I feel like now I'm kind of in a good spot.

Q. As it stands right now you're one shot back, may change a little bit going into the weekend, but just your mindset going into the weekend?

AARON WISE: Out here you know you're going to have to make a bunch of birdie, it's kind of a shoot-out. The course, because of a little bit of rain we got this morning, is still playing kind of soft and the greens aren't overly fast, so you're going to have to go out there this weekend and make a bunch of birdie, barring any kind of crazy wind conditions it's going to be kind of a shoot-out. So go home, get some rest, come back ready to make a bunch of birdies tomorrow.
