Quick Quotes

Q. Cam, solid round out there. It was windy this morning. Talk about your round and how it went for you.

CAM DAVIS: It was tough. The greens are pretty firm and fast with how windy it was early on. I think it's calmed down a little bit now, but I got off to a really nice start and didn't miss many shots through the first six or seven holes, which was really a nice way to get the tournament started.

Very happy with how I played, happy with how I finished. I made some nice putts toward the end, and 4-under I feel like is a pretty good round today. I didn't see 8. That's pretty good golf in these conditions. But I'm very happy with 4.

Q. You've played well, kind of been on a good run, but that hasn't spanned six weeks; that's gone several months with different breaks and the season ending. To be able to keep up your golf for that extended period of time, are you pretty happy with where everything has been?

CAM DAVIS: Yeah, it's been really nice to take -- this is probably the first real off-season I've been able to take since I turned pro with the way they planned out the year this year, so very happy that I played the good golf when I did to be able to afford to take some time off, and right now I've just been coming off not too much practice, just a lot of time relaxing and spending time with the family.

Right now in a good place, and I'm really enjoying golf right now. It always helps to play well, as well.

Q. Do you plan to play every couple weeks? You played Fortinet, played here. Is that the cadence?

CAM DAVIS: I'll play next week, as well, and then I'll wait until I get back to Australia at the end of the year. Not too much, just enough to keep the competitive engine going.

Q. You played pretty well here last year, as well. Is it something about this course that suits your game?

CAM DAVIS: I like firm and fast conditions. Yeah, I don't know. I've always played okay here. I just guess this time of the season, I've got a whole six or seven months' worth of competitive golf under my belt and kind of figured out what's working and what's not before I take any time off.

I don't know what it is. I've just tended to play quite well here. It would be nice to do better than I have before this week and keep playing the golf that I played today or even better.

Still got a chance to really improve on my past results here, but they have been pretty good.

Q. Because you really didn't need to play these fall events, you chose this one because you like it or you like Vegas?

CAM DAVIS: I've played well here in the past. I don't mind this event at all. I've actually quite enjoyed it.

Playing next week was always the plan, as well, and there's travel organized from here to next week, as well, so just makes everything very easy and smooth for us.

Yeah, really after next week there's not going to be much golf for the rest of the year until end of November and December.

I like playing, and I'm not going to miss too many events in a row, even if I don't have to play them, because I do like competing.
