Q. How would you assess the day today?
J.J. SPAUN: It was a good day. It was tougher conditions. Did overall pretty good, though. Yeah, it was good.
Q. What do you feel like was working so well in your game?
J.J. SPAUN: I drove it well again. I don't think I hit a really bad tee shot. It's kind of hard to miss fairways out here, other than hitting it too far.
But, yeah, I kind of tried to stay mistake-free. I had one 3-putt and that was kind of the only blunder of the day.
Q. Given how you felt you played that last QBE event, how good does it feel to be in the hunt for a second title?
J.J. SPAUN: Yeah, it's nice. It goes to show that sticking to what I was working on before QBE was the right thing to do and not just abandoning it. But I knew, you get to a tournament where the focus is a lot more dialed in, you kind of can hit better shots and play better and just post better scores.
So, yeah, I'm just happy that the bad swings at QBE didn't really make it past that week.
Q. There's social media outrage over your untucked shirt. What do you think about that?
J.J. SPAUN: Outrage? I mean, it's Hawaii. We're in Maui. It's sunny. I mean, you got to hang loose, right? So whatever. I mean, I got a lot of good compliments for it from the locals, so that's all I'm trying to impress are the locals here.
Q. You're hanging loose?
J.J. SPAUN: Yeah, just hang loose.
Q. What do you make of how Collin played today?
J.J. SPAUN: He played good. Just very solid. I don't think he made a bogey. He's a ball-striker, obviously. With conditions where it's windy and pins are kind of in spots where you got to be really precise with your distance control and trajectory, it's tailor-made for him.
I think we all -- I think guys that played really good is, that's kind of what you had to do today to go relatively low.
