Q. 3-under 67 today. Saw you drop to your knees there. Almost an eagle putt, but another good round.
MICHAEL THOMPSON: Yeah, I started off the day pretty consistent. Didn't give myself as many chances as I did yesterday, but I scrambled my way around to a 3-under.
Hard to complain about that.
Q. Take me through another day of not too much wind, maybe a little breezier today. Did that come into play at all?
MICHAEL THOMPSON: Yeah, it did. I thought the pins were a little bit tougher to get to and it was really important to place your ball on the proper side of the hole today. There were a lot of holes on pretty steep slopes, and so if you get above the hole it was pretty quick and hard to be aggressive.
Any time it blows out here, even just a little bit, it makes you think just that much more, makes the shot that much more difficult.
Again, greens are still receptive and not the fastest we've ever seen these greens, so you can be aggressive at times. I'm just really thankful to survive my backside. I was it all over the place and got up and down from everywhere.
Excited to play the weekend.
Q. What does a round like today, 3-under, but you said you had to scramble a lot. Does that take anything out of the tank or do you get recharged?
MICHAEL THOMPSON: No, I think just it's a late day. You know, the first two days are a grind because you want to play the weekend and you want to put yourself in a position to compete.
I feel like I've done that, so I can put this in the past and focus on tomorrow, get some good rest, get some good grub tonight, and just get after it tomorrow.
So I'm looking forward to it.
Q. Last question: Any changes for tomorrow or just business as usual?
MICHAEL THOMPSON: Think just business as usual, this is first tournament of the year. We're all kind of figuring out where our games are and what we need to work on.
This is a great test to see where we are with our game. So like I said, I'm excited. I'm in a good position. You know, see what happens.
