Q. Brendon, how would you assess the first round?
BRENDON TODD: Yeah, thought I played really well. Hit it great most of the day. Had a couple good looks on 10 and 11 and missed them. Stayed patient and ended up making a couple nice par saves on 13 and 15 that kept me in the round, and then was able to start making birdies there birdieing 18 and the last two, 8 and 9 were nice birdies.
All in, played really solid.
Q. Did you feel like you maybe got -- I know you were struggling a little bit on Sunday with your driver.
BRENDON TODD: Yeah.
Q. Feel like you got that figured out a little bit over the last couple days?
BRENDON TODD: Yeah, I drove it pretty well last week except for that one shot where I just think I wasn't planning on going for it. It was kind of a tricky scenario.
Paul and I did some good work to tighten up the driving and I was able to put that in pretty well today, and felt good tee-to-green.
Q. Chris was just here and he was saying this is a little different wind than you guys see here.
BRENDON TODD: Yeah.
Q. How does that make the course tougher in your opinion?
BRENDON TODD: Yeah, it does. We had this wind I remember on Sunday on 2021, which I think Chris finished second that year, because I remember hitting 5-wood into No. 1. It does, it makes -- gosh, it makes 16, 18, 1, 5, just beasts of holes.
But you do get the bonus of 9 and 10 downwind. I think out here it tends to even out a little bit, but this was the tougher wind and obviously blowing really strong today.
Q. Keep it in the fairway on 18 easier, can't you?
BRENDON TODD: You can. Yeah, you can, but --
Q. Looking at the positives.
BRENDON TODD: Yeah, but last year I was hitting a 300 yard 5-wood down the middle and 5-wood on the green. I'd rather hit my --
Q. What you do today?
BRENDON TODD: I hit driver. Hit a good one in the fairway and had 260 front; hit a 3-wood to 30 yards and chipped it close and made birdie. But it's three heck of a -- yeah, three great shots.
