Quick Quotes

Q. Grayson, what was the key for your day today?

GRAYSON MURRAY: Yeah, I think just, you know, basically yesterday I felt like I didn't do much wrong ask just trying to emulate today like I did yesterday.

Hit a lot of fairways, greens being and just a lot of stress-free things. At the end of the day it adds up to I would like to say an easy 64. I don't think 64s are ever easy, but sometimes they're a little easier than other.

Q. What's the difference in you this go-round on the PGA TOUR than previously?

GRAYSON MURRAY: I been out here -- my rookie year was 2017. I was young and thought I was invincible. Wasn't doing the correct stuff off the course to really give myself the best chance to succeed out here.

Over the years I've kind of given in a few, and right when I try to give up someone gives me a little more inspiration saying, hey, you got it, you can do it. Those are the people that are close to me that I really lean on in hard times.

I just got to keep pushing through. That's the only way I know how.

Q. What was the low point that got you going in the right direction this time?

GRAYSON MURRAY: Yeah, I mean, I think there were multiple low points. My scooter accident in Bermuda was really a low point in my life. You know, I've obviously been vocal about the alcohol use in the past. I'm over eight months sober now. I have a beautiful fiancée that I love so much and who is so supportive of me, and my parents are so supportive of me.

Me caddie, Jay, is one of my biggest cheerleaders. Just makes everything so easy when I got out here inside the ropes when everyone is just in my circle just really pulling for me.

You know, they're right there with me when I do have those hard days, and I still have hard days, but I feel a lot more at peace inside the ropes now.

Q. How did you spend the off-season? You played a little bit in the fall, but between then and now.

GRAYSON MURRAY: Yeah, we got a new townhome in Jupiter so I was buying a lot of furniture to furnish the place. I had a little back issue there for about a month or so that I didn't touch a club.

Just working out a lot once I could and practicing here and there, and then basically right after Christmas I went out to Palm Springs where my fiancée's folks live and got back into the grind mode.

Q. How does it feel different with the better status you got from the Korn Ferry TOUR as opposed to bouncing around and not sure when you're going to get in?

GRAYSON MURRAY: Yeah, it's tough to bounce around. I thought last year that I was going to commit fully to the Korn Ferry TOUR, and I had a few really good finishes early on. I was like, I'm in some of these PGA events. Might as well go try my luck. Played well in a few of those.

As you know, out there on the Korn Ferry TOUR even if you win you're still not locked up for next year. The higher you are in the category ranking coming into this season is huge.

Luckily I finished I think seventh on that list. Gives me comfort knowing I'm going to get into most of the events I want to.

Q. Anything from the feelings down the stretch and how your body reacts to contention from the wins on the Korn Ferry TOUR that you can think of and pull from as you game plan to get ready for tomorrow?

GRAYSON MURRAY: Yeah, I know how to win. I mean, I'm not afraid of the moment. I'm not going to back down. I'm going to give it my best, and if I don't win tomorrow, it's not from a lack of giving it my all or being scared out there.

You know, hopefully I am the winner tomorrow. There is a long way to go. 18 holes is a lot of golf, so...

Q. Guy you were playing with today, Chris Kirk, do you take anything from his personal journey, coming back and winning last week and being sober now?

GRAYSON MURRAY: Absolutely. Chris is an inspiration. You know, I think he's been pretty vocal about his story as well. You can see the success after he got sober, how quickly he had success out here on tour, became the player that he was before and even better.

You know, I think Chris and I are both not going to have great days just like any of you guys. We're still going to have tough days. But Lord willing, just doing the right things each and every day and never giving up and that just giving all the glory to God.

Q. Are you on social media?

GRAYSON MURRAY: I am on Instagram. Haven't been an Twitter in years. I just really like to just to keep it as private as possible.
