Q. Impressive round. No bogeys on the card. Talk to me about that up-and-down on 18.
XANDER SCHAUFFELE: Yeah, I trashed the cup there. I hit a really good shot, and I guess it was lucky it didn't go in the water, super unlucky it wasn't in the hole or right next to the hole. So, kind of a weird feeling, and just happy I was able to make par.
Q. Great start to your week. Conditions were perfect today. How would you assess the day?
XANDER SCHAUFFELE: Got off to a pretty solid start. Made some early birdies before the par-5s. Got kind of hot through that middle stretch. Chipped in there on the back nine. A little bit of a scramble coming in, but I was able to scramble. Happy to keep the card clean.
Q. You had an eagle chip-in, but you also had some impressive up-and-downs. What are you more happy with in your game as far as making birdies or scoring or grinding through the end there to keep the bogeys off the card?
XANDER SCHAUFFELE: Just everything. I imagine someone's going to shoot lower than 8-under, that's just kind of what guys do out here. Once one of us shoots something low, the next wave of guys will do even better. That's what I expect.
