Quick Quotes

Q. Not the ending to your round that you wanted today, could you take us through what happened on 18 there?

NICK DUNLAP: Yeah, I hit a 4-iron about 50 yards left of where I was looking, a really, really awful golf shot, but a good up-and-down.

Q. How crucial was that for your mentality going forward to just get a bogey out of that situation?

NICK DUNLAP: Yeah, every shot matters. It's a long event, 54 holes left, yeah, every shot matters, obviously you wouldn't like to give one away on a fairly easy hole, but it happens.

Q. You were on a roll at that point in your last nine, just what's been clicking in your game so far today?

NICK DUNLAP: Yeah, it was kind of a weird day. I felt a little strange. I don't know, I didn't feel awesome waking up this morning, which, you know, sometimes you wake up feeling great, sometimes you don't, it just kind of it is what it is. I hit some good drives, hit some really good wedges, made some 15-, 20-footers when I needed to, and just hit some bad shots at the wrong time.

Q. Getting off to a fast start is really important in this tournament, how would you rate the start that you're off to and what do you think you'll need to do in round two to get yourself in contention for the weekend?

NICK DUNLAP: Yeah, same game plan. Obviously fairways and greens and try to make as many birdies as you can. I saw scores at Nicklaus are pretty solid, so hopefully get off to a good start and take care of the par-5s and finish off at the Stadium.
