Q. Really solid first round. What was working well for you?
NICK TAYLOR: I putted really nice today, scored well, kind of around the greens, chipped it nice, so I definitely hit wedges close, took advantage of the par-5s, but I would say putting was the best. I was a little squirrely off the tee at times, but was able to miss it in the right spots and was able to score from there.
Q. The Stadium Course is obviously a course that can bare its teeth, what do you have to do to manage this course and really make sure you stay out of trouble?
NICK TAYLOR: Yeah, there's definitely five, six tee shots that are intimidating. I think the par-5s I played great today. Couple of 'em were, you're really not going for the green, trying to hit on the green, you're trying to hit it in position around the green to give you the best opportunity. I put those in good spots, chipped it nice and close and made birdies there. That was great there. The wedges were pretty solid on holes where I was in play in the fairway and gave myself chances, but I just capitalized a lot today.
Q. Coming off your win last week, riding high off of that, what is working best with your game not only on the course but on the mental side of things, just where are you at and what's been feeling really, really good?
NICK TAYLOR: Yeah, worked a decent amount with the mental game in the off-season. Just being aware of the thoughts going through your mind, trying to be in the present moment, just putting the time in for that. Scored really well today, that's something I feel like you do when you win, so to be able to ride that into this week and continue that, that's kind of the name of the game, especially at this golf course and this tournament, because the scores today, again, they're very low, so played smart, again, capitalized with the putts.
Q. With a tournament like this where you are playing a multitude of courses, obviously coming off last week and being able to put together a solid round today, what does that do for the rest of the week?
NICK TAYLOR: It's big. Stadium is probably the most difficult of the three, so it's nice to get off to a great start. I managed my rest pretty well the last couple days. I only saw five or six holes at the Stadium, maybe nine at Nicklaus. I haven't seen La Quinta, but I've about been there plenty, so I was not concerned about seeing the course, it was kind of getting some rest, so I did that well.
