Blades Brown

Quick Quotes

Q. Maybe not how you wanted to finish today, but just big takeaways from the week, what are they for you?

BLADES BROWN: Oh, I mean, it was a blast competing on the PGA TOUR. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to convert coming down the stretch, but, I mean, a lot of practice. I'm glad I'm doing it right now, that way I can learn. My dad always says, You win and you learn, and I'm definitely going to learn from this experience.

Q. I know it's so soon, but any specific memories you feel like from the week that are going to stick with you?

BLADES BROWN: Oh, I mean shooting 8-under on PGA TOUR my first time was really special, so I'll probably say that. Then just all the support that I've gotten, whether it's family or my friends -- I've gotten so many text messages, I haven't been able to respond to all of them, but it's just awesome. And Callaway for their awesome support. They made sure whatever I needed they would get to know. I remember Kellen, who works in the Callaway truck, I needed a hybrid, like the next day, it was Wednesday, got it to me that night. So I can't thank Callaway enough for just supporting me every way they can and, yeah.

Q. Coming down the stretch could you, did you know you were on the cut line, were there nerves, especially with that or maybe just a couple weird numbers and swings?

BLADES BROWN: Yeah, that's -- golf is such a funny game. Just coming down the stretch my, I think mentally I was just a little drained, so I definitely can work on that. Yeah, just a few awkward numbers, and just the dice didn't roll my way this time. But I'm just, I can't thank American Express for letting me play in their golf tournament, it's been so much fun. I saw Charley Hoffman on the putting green this morning, and he was like, Okay, kid. Okay kid. So I'm really looking forward to what's next.

Q. Can you take me through that 17th hole.

BLADES BROWN: Yeah, so I actually, I wasn't really feeling nerves very much, it was just, it was 141, and the greens are so firm, especially on the Stadium Course, that we were playing, I think Jack said maybe like a five-yard skip with a pitching wedge. I mean, that's a lot. The pin -- the carry was 123. And I caught it just a little bit skinny, and then as soon as I hit, it just gusted a little bit, and a little thin and skinny, definitely not the recipe we wanted there. Then hit a rock, I thought it was going to go on the green for a second, but, yeah, it was just unfortunate.

Q. You're staying in California, what are you doing on Monday?

BLADES BROWN: I'm playing in the Monday Q for the Farmers Insurance, so that would be awesome to be able it tee up next week, yeah.
