La Quinta, California, USA

PGA WEST Pete Dye Stadium Course

Adam Hadwin

Quick Quotes

Q. 66 at La Quinta today. Just some thoughts on that round, how would you assess it?

ADAM HADWIN: You feel like you got to make a lot of birdie early. Guys are going very low out here. Past success certainly creeps in a little bit. I got off to a bit of a very average start. I didn't putt well early. Couple shots here and there, couple loose shots here and there. Making the turn at 11-under, you know you got a lot of opportunities on the front, but you're going to have to start making a few if you want to get back into the tournament, otherwise, it will be unreachable tomorrow. Thankfully, I got a nice run at the end. I think it was five of the last six. So, very pleased with the way I finished and hopefully make a lot of birdies tomorrow.

Q. Talk about that run at the end, what kind of kick started that?

ADAM HADWIN: Thankfully, we'd run into a couple of reasonable par-5s back-to-back, which certainly helps. But, yeah, I finally, I finally kind of settled in and hit a couple decent putts on the greens. Started hitting a little bit better irons iron shots at the end as well. All three golf courses provide you with so many opportunities for birdie, a lot of the time it's just kind of staying patient and not getting too frustrated without making birdies. I'm happy that I kind of stayed in there and was able to get on that run and hopefully get back into this tournament.

Q. Just some thoughts on Nick Dunlap playing here as well.

ADAM HADWIN: He's certainly running away from us right now. Obviously an incredible talent. I think that I played with him actually Saturday of the U.S. Open in Boston a couple years ago. Clearly, doing a lot of wonderful things, and I'm sure we'll see him up here pretty quickly.

Q. What's your plan for the Stadium Course tomorrow?

ADAM HADWIN: Make as many birdies as possible.
