Q. 4-under first round, great start. What was working for you today?
TAYLOR MOORE: Yeah, I just got off to a good start. Got in a good rhythm early, hit a bunch of greens. 4-under through 7 was nice. Then a couple loose tee shots on 12 and 15, but I thought overall when I did miss, I was in pretty good positions, and it was nice to see a few putts go in as well.
Q. This course is known for challenging every aspect of your game. How did you face the challenge today?
TAYLOR MOORE: I thought I did pretty good, especially adjusting with the softness of the greens. The storm rolled through and made them a little softer than in practice, I felt like, the last few days. Again, I thought I just hit some quality shots when I drove it in the fairway and was able to give myself some looks in the beginning of the round, which was nice.
Q. At what point in the round did you settle in and feel comfortable, feel like it could be a good day?
TAYLOR MOORE: I was good when I teed off. I felt like after the first tee ball I was ready to rock and was just excited to be playing. A couple weeks ago I wasn't in this field, so I was just trying to embrace the opportunity and make the most of it.
Q. Are you a big believer in momentum and carrying that forward? You mentioned you weren't in the field and earned your way in. Do you feel that when you're stepping out there inside the ropes?
TAYLOR MOORE: I think momentum is a big part of the sport, for sure. But I had a really good off-season. I was excited to get started at the beginning of the year and only got into two events to start, so I was really happy to play well at Cognizant, which ultimately got me in this field.
