Q. Scottie, 8-under through two rounds. How would you assess your play so far and how you feel about your position?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Yeah, I feel good. I feel like I'm playing a little bit better than my score, but I hit a lot of quality shots and a lot of good putts this afternoon. Yeah, looking forward to the next couple days.
Q. Is there any shot that's in your mind that you bothered you that you'd like to have back or do you feel good about how you executed?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I hit it in the water today on 17. Outside of that, I felt like I executed a lot of my shots really well. I probably was just a bit too far away from the hole to make too many birdies, but bogey-free is always good.
Q. How did you spend the time between the rounds?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I ate food and then I went to the tee.
Q. No swings or shots?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Didn't have time.
Q. Did you feel pressure to put a low score on the board with conditions today?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Not really. I was just trying to shoot the best score that I could, and that's all I was really trying to do. I was hoping to get off to a good start being on the back nine, which was my front nine, and I wasn't able to do that, but fortunately I made some birdies coming in.
Q. I know we don't have a completed second round, but you've put yourself four back of the current lead. It's a good spot for you considering you've won from further back here before. Do you think you've got the three-peat well and truly alive?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Yeah, I don't see why not. Yeah, I like where -- obviously I'd like to be a little bit closer to the lead, but still, four back out of now is not a bad place to be.
Q. Obviously you know the course well. You've played great here. Is the key just putting the foot on the throat now from here?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: You know, I'm not really going to overthink it. I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing, plotting along and taking advantage of my opportunities. The last two days I really haven't played the back nine as well as I would like to. I haven't really taken advantage of some of the scoring holes back there, so I'm looking to improve on that the next couple days.
Q. It may be a while before you go off tomorrow. How are you going to approach the day?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Well, I'm going to go put my feet up and then just wait for when the approximate tee times are going to be and then just try and get as close to my normal warmup as possible.
Q. A stat just popped up. You're 59 under in your last 14 rounds. Does it feel like that? How does this run feel to you?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I don't know. I think we've been playing easy courses. We went from Kapalua to Palm Springs. Pebble was pretty scorable. I haven't had the finishes I'd hoped to to start the year, but still, I've been playing some really solid golf.
