Q. Nicolai, five of the last six to close. How crucial was that stretch to get hot and get your way up to the top of the leaderboard?
NICOLAI HØJGAARD: Yeah, felt like all day I played really solid. Hit a lot of good tee shots and decent approach shots. Didn't get anything going to be fair. Was waiting for my run and staying patient out there.
And then I managed to hit some really solid shots on the back nine and capitalized, so a better finish today than it was yesterday.
Q. And I think I checked, I think you're right up there in terms of strokes gained approach the greens. The iron game this week, does it feel like it's really dialed in?
NICOLAI HØJGAARD: Yeah, I mean it's been solid, but I feel like today I've had a lot of scoring irons in hand and I just been hitting them to 20, 25 feet all day, so I would like to get a little bit tighter tomorrow.
But my game has been feeling really solid all week, so really happy to see the tendencies, and especially off the tee.
Q. You had a decent week last week at Torrey Pines; a very different test this week. Seems like you're getting some solid results. Is that encouraging to see across the board?
NICOLAI HØJGAARD: Yeah, it's nice to see that some of the stuff we're working on is showing signs of it out there in the game. I've been really happy with the way I've been striking the ball, so really good to see the some from last week.
I felt like was close to have a really good week, but a little bit of momentum on Torrey sometimes can be hard to get. Managed to string in a few birdies it the end today, and yeah, it will be fun going into tomorrow.
Q. You birdied five of the last six holes you played today. What on the back nine -- how do you find that consistency?
NICOLAI HØJGAARD: I think it's set up from the front nine with patience and commitment to the targets and shots. Because I played really solid all day and I just didn't get the birdies.
It's easy to then go out and hunt the birdies a little bit, but I stayed patient, hitting into the right zones and hit some really, really good shots coming in and capitalized with some birdies, so it was a great way to finish.
