Quick Quotes

Q. Adam, how were the conditions out there for you, and talk to us about how the round went for you in those conditions.

ADAM HADWIN: Yeah, obviously a great start to the tournament. Tricky conditions for sure. We definitely found the wind to be swirling a little bit. It was kind of bouncing all around between north and east, and it just depended on a little bit what gust you got. You had to stay patient, had to try and just pick your shots, execute, and if you got gusted, it is what it is.

We did a great job all day. I hit it really solid all day. Made a bunch of putts and just kinda stayed steady all day.

Q. Because you were on the back end of the morning wave, was it easier to get started because you knew about the delay ahead of time?

ADAM HADWIN: A hundred percent, yeah. We definitely had a good side to all those delays for sure. I was here, but I was kind of just able to wait it out a little bit and plan my morning as the delays kept rolling in. It would have been very difficult to be one of those first few groups warming up and just standing on the range waiting to play.

Q. A little bit different wind direction than we normally see around here. Was that for somebody that's probably played here quite a bit a little different?

ADAM HADWIN: I think more than anything just the strength of it. We just don't often see 15-mile-an-hour gusts to 20 out here. Usually we're playing inside of a dome.

Living here and playing this course as much as I have, I've seen a lot of it, but yeah, it definitely -- you had to be a lot more patient than you normally do around this place. You couldn't really chase birdies like we typically do out here.

Q. Being on top of the leaderboard with another Canadian, what does that mean for your country right now?

ADAM HADWIN: Yeah, Canadian golf has been in a great place for a while now, Corey and Mackenzie kind of leading the way. We had Adam Svensson winning this year, as well, along with Mackenzie. It's a great group to be a part of. I'm really disappointed I didn't get to 6-under because I saw Nick up there, and I wanted to hold it over him tonight. But yeah, it's fun. It's a great group to be a part of, and we share a lot of laughs together.

Q. Speaking of Canadian golfers, wondering if you watch Brooke Henderson at all and if you caught her win earlier this year.

ADAM HADWIN: I try to, yeah, when we can. Obviously Brooke is extremely impressive, probably at this point likely will go down as probably the best Canadian golfer in history, and that's no disrespect to Mike Weir. She continues to impress, and she holds the bar pretty high for us. I think every one of us is kind of chasing that.

I still haven't met her yet, but obviously she's doing some great things.
