Quick Quotes

Q. Good opening round, 4-under today. Tell me about how it went?

VAUGHN TAYLOR: It was an interesting round. I played pretty solid. I had a lot of 4-footers for par and things like that. So I kind of was scratching and clawing, but all in all I played pretty well and I'm happy with the day.

Q. Bogey-free, but you said that there were some that could have put you a little bit in the clubhouse under. Any particular shots that you left out there?

VAUGHN TAYLOR: Yeah, you know, I can't complain. I think I made the best of it. I made a great par putt at 18 from the front of the green from like 35 feet.

But played solid. I didn't leave too many out there. There's some tough pins and some tough putts that are tricky and if they kind of get away from you, you can have some four and five footers. And I made all of those and I played well.

Q. Obviously a course where you have found success here. What's special about this tournament that clicks with your game?

VAUGHN TAYLOR: I can get some short irons in my hands and some wedges on some holes. So just scoring clubs in my hands. Where, some weeks, I'm not the longest hitter, so it's hard to compete hitting 4-irons into some greens.

So just felt like I can get some scoring clubs and I'm a good putter and love the greens out here, I think that's probably the biggest two things.

Q. Obviously unique format here, what was your group like playing with today?

VAUGHN TAYLOR: Yeah, my partner's great, he keeps it light out there, we're always joking and laughing. So it's good for my game, good for me.

And we had a great group. Adam's a great guy and Ben as well, so it was a good group and we had a good time.
