Q. Just get some comments on your day on some difficult conditions.
PATRICK CANTLAY: Yeah, it was tough. Overall, I played well. Felt like I maybe left a few out there. But I'm sure everyone feels the same.
Q. Did it almost feel like a U.S. Open test light almost?
PATRICK CANTLAY: I mean, you know, we have seen U.S. Opens harder and U.S. Opens easier. I mean, when the wind blows like this on any golf course it's going to be tough.
Q. What was most difficult part for you with the wind?
PATRICK CANTLAY: Yeah, it's just hard controlling your distance into greens. The spaces out there aren't very big.
Number 8's a scary hole today just because there's not much space to leave the golf ball and the wind's gusty. So that makes it difficult to get your ball in the right spot.
Q. Jon has been on such an incredible run of form. I know you weren't playing with him and it's a tough day today, but when you see a 76 next to his name is that a bit eye opening?
PATRICK CANTLAY: I didn't even know that he shot that. Yeah, he's been playing well. There's been a number of good players that have gone on runs the last two, three years. You just got to do your best to get in the zone, kind of like he's been, and stay in there for as long as possible.
Q. How hard was the putting out there? It looked like the wind could easily affect the ball.
PATRICK CANTLAY: Yeah, like I said, similar to the iron shots. When it gusts, it's hard to account for that. So if there's a steady wind it's a lot easier. But today the wind's up-and-down, which makes it difficult. You got to get your timing right.
