DAVIS THOMPSON: Yeah, it played a lot tougher today. I just knew if I kept hitting fairways and greens and putting stress on my opponent, you know, it was going to be tough for him to come back.
But got off to a rough start again, but was able to rally and win three or four holes on the front and just build momentum off that.
Q. Anything in particular on those first two holes? Nerves or was it just...
DAVIS THOMPSON: Yeah, just out of position. Not really committing to a shot on No. 2 and just hit it out of position on No. 1.
Once I hit the green on 3 I just settled in and played 3-under from then on out. So really good.
Q. Biggest turning point of the match, you think?
DAVIS THOMPSON: Yeah, I think on 10 he missed a short putt and could have gotten it back to 1-up. Yeah, he was struggling to get some momentum and I was hitting it well and just hitting a lot of fairways and greens.
Q. Feeling confident now heading to day three?
DAVIS THOMPSON: Yeah, I played really good yesterday. I just got ran into a buzz saw with Cam. He played phenomenal. I don't really know how the pool play works but just going to try to get a win tomorrow and see what happens.
