Quick Quotes

Q. Great playing today. 64. One stroke shy of your career best on the PGA TOUR. What was working so well for you out there today?

MARK HUBBARD: A little bit of everything. I guess I'm maybe leading or close to it in strokes gained putting, so obviously I made a lot of putts. But I feel like I missed a few opportunities too.

So really it was all the way around, because I hit a lot of good iron shots I didn't capitalize too. So I've just been golfing my ball well lately and that's about it.

Q. How were the conditions out there, is the wind picking up this afternoon or did that play any role?

MARK HUBBARD: Yeah, I actually thought it died down a little. I think the guys yesterday afternoon probably had a little more wind than we did. If anything coming down the stretch it was, it made it tough because we were kind of playing for some wind and it couldn't really make up its mind which direction it was coming from, but, yeah, I think if anything we got the good end of the draw.

Q. Obviously put yourself in a good spot going into the weekend, how do you keep the momentum going late tomorrow and Sunday?

MARK HUBBARD: Yeah, like I was telling Doug, this course is crazy, there's so much trouble, anything can happen on any given hole, so you really cannot get ahead of yourself. I just got to keep trying to give myself as many birdie looks as I can and when I do get in trouble, like I did on 11 today, don't be afraid to take my medicine, wedge it out and get it up-and-down.

Q. What goes through your head when you walk into the Bear Trap?

MARK HUBBARD: Man, I don't know, I think it's fun. I love the energy, I love the atmosphere. I think it gets its kind of devilish rep, but all the holes out here are hard, like you can make a double or triple on any of the holes. So I don't necessarily think any of them are harder than the rest, I think 14 is just as hard as 16 and some of the other par-3s are just as hard as 15 and 17. So I just try to enjoy it, enjoy the crowds and have fun with it.

Q. Out of those three do you have a favorite one?

MARK HUBBARD: I think 16's one of the best holes on the course. I think probably my favorite is 15. I just like the way it sets up to my eye, kind of hitting a little fade held off that bunker, so probably that one.
