Q. Good start today. 2-under 70. Yesterday you told us you like courses where the scoring is closer to par. Just a few comments on the round today.
SHANE LOWRY: Yeah, I do like golf where if you break 70 you're pretty happy with your self. I am happy with 2-under today. It's just most holes out there are tricky. The wind lay down for most of the day. Wasn't really up that much. It was as gettable as this course gets.
Yeah, I played nice. I didn't hole as many putts as I would have liked. I felt like I could have shot a couple better. But I'm happy all in all.
Q. Is there something with you with number 17?
SHANE LOWRY: Yeah, nearly pinned one today.
Q. Also at PLAYERS, obviously. Is there something there?
SHANE LOWRY: Yeah, I hit a nice shot there today and obviously -- I think it lipped out. I think it came very close. I was just happy the ball was on dry land, to be honest. Nice 2.
Q. 17 is a lucky number.
SHANE LOWRY: I hope so. Maybe I'm saving the 1 for Sawgrass in a couple of weeks.
Q. What was the club you hit?
SHANE LOWRY: I hit a 9-iron. It was 145 I think today.
Q. How tough was it to judge the pace of the greens?
SHANE LOWRY: It was very tough. The greens, there's a lot more grass on them than I remember here. They're very grainy. I know in our group we all struggled with the pace of the greens. It was hard when you're 20 feet and you don't want to leave yourself too many 3-, 4-, 5-footers with a lot of grain around the hole. So yeah, you're just trying to drop them in from 20 feet. It was quite hard to judge the pace.
Q. How pleased were you with tee-to-green play?
SHANE LOWRY: Good, yeah. Tee to green I was good. Tee to green last week I was very good as well. So I'm pretty happy with my, pretty happy with the way my game is trending.
Q. Process of getting used to a new caddie. Darren, you worked him before. How is that whole process going?
SHANE LOWRY: It's going well. Darren and I are getting on well. I like the way we're working. Obviously our first week wasn't the best start, but things have been going well the last couple of weeks and long may it continue.
