BEN TAYLOR: With the afternoon start, the wind quite wasn't as strong as I thought it could be at times, which set up for a few chances, and bar a couple of hiccups out there with a few funky tee shots, we posted a good score today.
Q. Does the time you spent living down here the last couple years help you feel more comfortable around this course, even if you haven't played this course many times?
BEN TAYLOR: For sure, yeah. This is home for me, so this is the climate I'm the most used to and I enjoy playing in. I've got a fiance, family, friends, members of the club, I've got them all out there. It's nice to have the local support, and I'm excited for a fun weekend.
Q. You've had a couple of good finishes this season so far. How will your attitude be going into tomorrow, comfort level, too?
BEN TAYLOR: Yeah, to me this isn't new to me anymore. This is a position I've been in a few times now, multiple different levels. This is kind of the third time I've been in this position this season, so it's not new anymore. I think that will help settle the nerves on the weekend.
This is not an easy golf course, so I think regardless of where you've on the board, you've got a chance.
Q. This is a true test of golf, this place, and I'm looking forward to some fun the next two days.
Q. Matches your career best here. I guess the switch to Florida was all we needed for the game this year.
BRICE GARNETT: Man, I had to get off that West Coast. It hasn't treated me well my whole career, and I was kind of in that category I had to go play this year. But love it. Come here, get some warm sunshine, get some Bermuda greens, hit some Bermuda rough and have to drive the ball straight, so excited to be back.
Q. Putter cooperated; I saw once you're committed and over it, you're ready to go. Is that something you've worked on getting to in terms of the process because it looked really smooth for you out there today?
BRICE GARNETT: Yeah, I implemented the AimPoint Express probably three or four years ago, and I struggle committing in most aspects of my life except marrying my wife. It is something that Tim Yelverton, my coach, and I, we work on every week, and I just pick a line, commit to it, hit the putt, and it's served me pretty well the last few years.
Q. The breeze has tried to come up a little bit, but you knew this was a golf course that was gettable today. How do you try and attack this golf course when it's really never a golf course that you can attack?
BRICE GARNETT: Yeah, I saw the scores this morning and I couldn't really believe my eyes. I didn't really even have a number in mind today, it was just keep it in front of me and take advantage of some good shots. Hit a couple good shots on 11 and 12, chip-in on 13 was big, and just excited to get in with a 64, and see where we go this weekend.
Q. What do you like most about the start that you take into tomorrow?
BRICE GARNETT: Just driving it pretty well with a new driver. Been working hard with my coach, starting balls further left with the irons. I have a tendency to kind of push them to these right pins. Serves me well playing away from some of this water, and it was really good the last couple days.
