Q. How would you characterize the conditions, the change between yesterday and today for you out there?
KEVIN YU: Yeah, definitely today played a little more wind than yesterday and was blowing since hole one. Just a lot more wind.
But I think there's some gettable pins compared to yesterday. It definitely played harder, but gettable pins, a little easier, but still, there's a lot of harder holes. Just definitely playing harder today with the wind.
Q. This season you've been all around the lead, Farmers, Amex, playing really well. Is there something that you can attribute that to over the off-season, things you worked on, where you feel like your game is better this year than it was in years past?
KEVIN YU: Yeah, just kind of ball-striking I think it more steady than last year. Especially putting I've been working on quite a bit right now. Last year I hit it still pretty good but missed tons of putts. Just been working on it ever since last year. I feel like it pays off a little bit now. Ball-striking I think is definitely more steady now. Just kind of with everything, I feel like -- I definitely feel more comfortable, and putting has been better. It came out with pretty good results.
Q. One bogey today is pretty impressive. What was working for you today?
KEVIN YU: Just ball-striking and just strategy. For those harder holes, like I talked earlier, just really trying to hit the fairways and hit the greens and try to two-putt. If I'm 30, 40 feet, not try to hunt all the flags, just really trying to stick to the plan. Par-5s are more gettable, and just try to take advantage of those holes. Just really be careful on the holes and try to hit a lot of fairways and greens, and that was working pretty good for me.
Q. What did you learn during those two top 10s that you think is going to help you this weekend?
KEVIN YU: Really I think being more comfortable out there and really stick to my game. In the past I feel like I've been thinking too much in the outcomes and thinking about my swing and everything. Just really focus on my golf game and not thinking about too much in outcomes.
It worked out pretty good, and it feels good, so it's really just trust it.
Q. When you talk about that, are there specific moments you can recall at either Farmers or Amex where you wish, I shouldn't have done that or I was doing too much of this?
KEVIN YU: I feel like those two events are pretty good, but I feel like Amex on the last hole, I was feeling really good with my driver that day but then I hit a 3-wood and missed right in the bunker and made a bogey on the last hole, and I think that cost me a lot of -- I finished third, and if I had made birdie there I might have had a chance to win, and it cost me a lot there.
After that round -- I shot 9-under, but that shot -- I was feeling really good, and I should have just taken driver and hit it in the fairway and not hit 3-wood. Really just trust my game and know I can do it and take that momentum going forward.
