Q. Luke, first of all, congratulations. What a moment us day for you. Talk about the emotions you're feeling right now securing your PGA TOUR card.
LUKE CLANTON: Yeah, it's been awesome. From the missed cuts to playing well to everything being out here, it's amazing. I kind of said it again, I think this is my fourth start out here, and it feels good to get it done now. I got that question asked about 19 points a ton, and it was kind of nerve-racking, everyone saying to get your TOUR card, which I love, and the support has been amazing, but to finally get it done is definitely a little bit of ease for sure.
Q. You grew up playing junior golf here and your family is here, a lot of people that you have in your surroundings. How special is that?
LUKE CLANTON: Yeah, I mean, you kind of just said it right there for me. It's pretty cool to do it here. I've watched this event growing up a ton, and to be on 18 walking up and seeing all the people there, it's breathtaking. I'm just excited to kind of get this journey started and go back and win a national championship with the college team first and then get it started.
Q. You did it in style today. Just talk about that stretch where you made five birdies in six holes and finished it off with a birdie.
LUKE CLANTON: Yeah, I got a little excited on the bunker shot for sure. We were focused in, man, from the start of the day to the end of the day, we were locked in, and then on 18 when I saw my mom and dad I started to break down a little bit. But overall it's just awesome.
Q. Talk about kind of the sacrifices that your family has made for you just to have that moment on 18 green with them. What did that mean to you?
LUKE CLANTON: Yeah, I mean, dad and mom, what they've done for me, it's kind of -- can't even put it into words, really, in a way, and it's amazing to see them on 18. I know dad is right there and I'm trying not to look at him because he's going to make me cry.
Just amazing. No one knows about it. No one really will ever know how much they did for me. I can't put it into words.
Q. You've been on the precipice for a while. But just to get it done, not having to take another start, enjoying a college season, does it feel like the weight off the back a little bit?
LUKE CLANTON: Yeah, for sure. I never really want to talk about it and say it that way, but now that I'm done, it's definitely a lot off the shoulders for sure. I'm definitely excited to see what the boys have texted me and hang out with them when I get back there. We still have two more days in this event and we're going to be locked in and try to go out and win this thing.
Q. What did the crowd support the past two days, especially today, mean to you?
LUKE CLANTON: Yeah, I didn't realize how big it was. I was pretty focused in, and on 17 and 18 I kind of looked around and saw it. It was amazing. I didn't realize I'd get this much support the first two days of the event. But to get that and to have that kind of momentum after a couple birdies was pretty amazing.
