Q. Matthieu, solid round today. How was the course playing in comparison to yesterday?
MATTHIEU PAVON: Yeah, I think it was playing a little bit tougher. The pins are -- pretty similar for the wind; we had two beautiful days here, which is unbelievable. No wind pretty much. But I think the pins were a little bit trickier. But overall it still played quite easy I would say.
Q. Can you walk us through your eagle on the 10th hole?
MATTHIEU PAVON: Yeah, 10th hole was the perfect start, the dream start. A nice drive, like low cut, and I found myself with a nice number with a 4-iron, like 230 yards more or less, a little bit downwind off the right, and I hit that 4-iron perfect, a little hold against the wind, and I ended up 20, 25 foot. We had a great read with my caddie. We see pretty easily the line, and I just made a super stroke to start with a 3.
Q. What's the game plan going into the weekend?
MATTHIEU PAVON: The same, nothing different. I think we are getting better and better. I feel like my game is getting better and better after the few weeks I struggled early on this season. I'm just going to try to do the same, repeat, control the process. This is really what you can control, and always try to do my best with a positive attitude.
Q. A little off the beaten path, but 20 years since Tiger Woods won the 2005 Masters with that iconic chip-in. Do you have any recollections of watching that moment and how maybe it still resonates with you today?
MATTHIEU PAVON: No, I'm sorry. To be fair, in 2005 I wasn't playing much golf. Just a little. I was more into soccer like my dad. So I have very little memories of what happened in 2005.
Q. Yesterday obviously we saw a 59 here. As 59s and sub-60s rounds become a little more prevalent as we've seen a spike in them in recent years, do you think the number could possibly lose some of the magnitude it has, or it's still extremely impressive to shoot that low?
MATTHIEU PAVON: No, I think it's unbelievable. You can play from the reds today and probably not shoot 59. It's incredible. Even if the -- the course is absolutely perfect and we don't have any wind, it's a hell of an achievement. The number of players inside that group is very restricted, so it shows how hard it is to shoot that low.
