Q. How would you assess your round today?
DANIEL BERGER: I finished well, which helped a lot. Every time I peeked at the leaderboard, there wasn't a lot of afternoon scores up there, so obviously it's playing much more difficult. But that's the way the game works. Hopefully tomorrow we get out there early and make some more birdies.
Q. How did you feel with the wind kicking up and knowing this course pretty well?
DANIEL BERGER: Yeah, it's just tough to get the ball close. It's overseeded but the rough is up. I feel like last year they cut the rough a little shorter. It's a premium to be in the fairway. So if you're not in the fairway, it's very difficult to get it close.
Q. Do you feel like your game is building momentum?
DANIEL BERGER: I took a bunch of time off at the end of the season and then dealt with a couple small little injuries, so just really trying to get to 100 percent and kind of get my game feeling like it's firing on all cylinders. It was a nice start, and there's a lot of golf left, so excited about that.
Q. How did you like the new tee box on 18?
DANIEL BERGER: I think it's okay if it's down off the right. It's not my favorite. It was already a pretty difficult long hole. I think the risk-reward from the up tee is probably a little better, but I'm sure they'll move it up as the week goes on, maybe on Saturday and Sunday.
Q. How did you like playing with Brooks?
DANIEL BERGER: Yeah, I hadn't played with him in a while. I like playing with Brooks. I'm happy he's back. I think it's good for the TOUR. Obviously college teammates with him, and played Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup with him. I think it's a good thing for us.
Q. Any comments on how he played?
DANIEL BERGER: He shot 3-over, so I don't think he played his best. Obviously had a difficult time on 17, but if there's one thing I know, it's he can turn it around in an instant. I expect him to come out tomorrow and play well.
