Q. Kris, great round today. You're tied third. What went well for you today?
KRISTOFFER REITAN: Well, my ball-striking was good, which sets me up in a good spot. But I felt like all parts of my game, I felt like I had some answers to it today, which was very, very nice. So even though I got into some tricky spots on especially 15 but also 17, I had the answer for it, which is very, very nice. That's what you're searching for.
All around, it was pretty good today.
Q. The golfers that teed it up later in the day had to deal with that wind. You seemed to be able to handle it pretty well.
KRISTOFFER REITAN: Yeah, I'm used to playing in some bad weather back home in Europe. But yeah, I know for a fact that if the wind starts blowing like this, you really need to start maneuvering your golf ball and not necessarily hit perfect golf swings but you need to produce something to fight the breeze. That makes me feel more comfortable when it's windy.
Q. Do you take a lot of pride from now Norway did in the Olympics? Norway dominated the entire Olympics.
KRISTOFFER REITAN: It's awesome. A small country, but we really take huge pride in our winter sports. It was cool to watch for sure, and I even know a few of the guys that got gold. It's awesome to watch, and it's inspiring for me.
Q. Would you describe the 119-yard approach shot, I think on 11?
KRISTOFFER REITAN: Yeah, the one over water?
Q. Yeah.
KRISTOFFER REITAN: Well, I hit a good drive. I just kind of ran out of room a little bit. But luckily it was far enough left.
Then that pin is a tough one if you're from further back, but I only had a sand wedge in my hand, so that was helpful for sure. Then you kind of are just trying to land it between the front edge and the backstop behind it. It made it a little bit more simple. But it's just the fact that it wasn't actually into the breeze off the left, it was more straight off the left that made it simpler. A little bit of good timing, as well.
Q. How would you describe your first year on TOUR? I know Sony wasn't the best for you, but you bounced back, Farmers Insurance, Waste Management.
KRISTOFFER REITAN: Yeah, you bring up Sony; that was horrible. But it was a good experience just to get going. But it's been an adjustment, and it still is an adjustment. Just need to keep at it and try to improve my game slowly but surely but also start feeling more and more comfortable out here is the goal as the season goes on.
Q. What's the remainder of your schedule?
KRISTOFFER REITAN: Well, I'm still kind of torn if I'm playing Puerto Rico or not next week. By Friday I'll know. But hopefully I'll stay within the top 50 in the world, get into PLAYERS, and then after that looking at two more before the Masters.
Q. I notice you're clean shaven. Was it time for a change?
KRISTOFFER REITAN: Well, I just looked in the mirror and I didn't like who was looking back at me. I just decided, let's just start over. It happens every four, five, six months and then the beard will be back soon.
