SCOTT PAREL: Yesterday I was very, very scrappy. It was not pretty out there. Somehow I was 4-under par and hadn't hit very many good shots, and then it kind of exposed me on the back nine.
When we were down, I went and -- Keith and I went and worked on some things and it paid off today. Yeah, very solid.
Q. What did you feel you had to straighten out after yesterday?
SCOTT PAREL: My irons were awful. I drove the ball pretty well but I just had no confidence in my irons. I been struggling with them a little bit lately. I live -- Keith and I don't live together. He knows my swing. I don't really have a swing coach, and when we got done, he kind of pointed out what he thought was going on and he was dead on.
Q. What did you feel you had found or adjusted?
SCOTT PAREL: Well, I wasn't compressing the ball. I wasn't holding my angle. I usually have a lot of shaft lean. I kind of pinch down on the ball pretty well, and I was really just really kind of -- if I ever hit it solid I was just flipping it with my hands.
So, yeah, felt much, much better today.
Q. What got you going today? Any shot or...
SCOTT PAREL: You know what? The first hole probably. You know, I started out, I didn't feel like I had that great a range session. I knew what I was supposed to be doing but I wasn't really doing it on the range. I flared my tee shot to the right. I wasn't even sure if it was in bounds.
It was in the waste area luckily, and I hit a shot down there left of the green, which was not a good spot. Hit a great chip two, three feet and made par. Then I was like, Okay, well if I can make par from there maybe I can hit some good shots and make some birdies.
Q. Good vibes here in Naples?
SCOTT PAREL: Yeah, oh, yeah. Great vibes here. You know two years ago, obviously a differently golf course, but I stay with a great family here. Got great friends and family here that I stay with, so it's really more like a vacation than a golf tournament, which makes it really nice.
You just relax when you're done. Just forget about it until you come back here to work, which is good.
Q. What's it going to be like being in the mix with Bernhard on Sunday?
SCOTT PAREL: I mean, I love it. He's unbelievable. I saw him yesterday, I'm like, I'm glad you're shooting your age and not my age, because then we would have no chance. No, I like playing with Bernhard. Obviously he's a special golfer and a better person than he is golfer.
So, yeah, I'm looking forward to having a chance. I don't know if I'll be with him our not, but I'm somewhere in the mix.
Q. What is the name of the family?
SCOTT PAREL: Bob and Margo (phonetic) Burke.
Q. How did you meet them?
SCOTT PAREL: Actually met them through some folks that his sister-in-law were people that I knew from Springfield when I was playing on the Web.com Tour and I had stayed with them. It's a convoluted -- and they actually have a home in Tulsa, so when we played there Senior PGA last year we stayed in their house in Tulsa. Yeah, super nice folks.
