Q. 58 years old and competing with the young guys as usual at a course that you know so well and have won so many times. Had to be a thrill once again to walk these fairways today.
DAVIS LOVE III: It's always great to come back to Harbour Town. I was practicing with Zach at home a few weeks ago, and then we played at Tampa, and I was like you need to get ready for the Masters and I need to get ready for Hilton Head because that's my major. Then we ended up getting paired together.
Unfortunately, he was real sick today and didn't finish.
Q. (No microphone)?
DAVIS LOVE III: I've been pointing towards this. This is the start of my major season. I get to play in the PGA, and I wanted to be in shape and hitting it a little better. I threw away a bunch of shots. I got lucky on 14 and hit it right of the flag instead of left of the flag. Got away with a birdie.
And missed a couple little putts and a couple wrong clubs. Other than that, I played well.
Q. We know this is your focus this week obviously as far as the playing side is concerned, but we're looking forward to the Presidents Cup, everybody is, and the clock is ticking. What sort of things are you doing this week and maybe the next few weeks leading up to the huge event at Quail Hollow Club?
DAVIS LOVE III: The clock started ticking for me at the Masters really. Watching a bunch of points, watching guys play, watching guys move up the list.
Then one of the major benefits playing like at Tampa, playing here, playing at Amex is running into guys. Just happened to run into Cantlay coming out of the press room yesterday, and we had a little conversation and a few jokes.
Just continuing to build those relationships. Obviously, Sam Burns and Zalatoris some of those guys I don't know as well, I have to get to know the rest of the season. Hopefully I can play well enough and keep shooting under par and get their attention and play along with them.
