Q. Joaquin, an up-and-down day today. How would you kind of assess your play?
JOAQUIN NIEMANN: The first nine compared to the second nine was a totally different experience. I played really good the front nine. I gave myself a lot of chances. I didn't make any putts for birdie. But, yeah, I was in there in position, giving myself a lot of chances.
Then on the back nine, the wind started blowing, and it was different. I think it's really tricky.
Q. How did the switch in direction from the wind change how this course played today?
JOAQUIN NIEMANN: Yeah, it was totally opposite wind. I mean, for us, when I played in the afternoon, it wasn't that windy the last couple holes. Today the whole day it was blowing. It was not like constant wind. It would just gust all the time. It was going one direction then the other one.
Yeah, it was the same for everyone. It was fun, though.
Q. You're still obviously right in the mix through two rounds. What do you feel like you need to do this weekend to hopefully be in contention come Sunday afternoon?
JOAQUIN NIEMANN: I think just put myself in the fairway. I know that if I'm in the fairway, I have a good chance. On I think the last couple holes were a little tricky putting it on the fairway. Got a little bit unlucky with the clubs I hit on the par-3s.
I think give myself chances, and if I'm able to make a few putts, it should be a good weekend.
