Q. Your thoughts on the round?
MATT KUCHAR: Another good round, yeah. I'm awfully pleased. The state of my game is good. I love this place, one of my favorite venues, favorite sites of the year. I had some good results and feel like I'm in position for another good result this week.
Q. On 5 you were able to make it on in two, but unfortunately had the three-putt. Is that a situation where you wish you could have had one of those putts back?
MATT KUCHAR: Sure. I think about that pin location, and I've made two birdies from challenging little wedge shots. And then on the green in two thinking my best opportunity for a birdie, and I walk away with a par. But that is such a tough pin location. Even from where I was putting from was challenging.
I'd like to think most times I could get down from there in two, but it's part of golf and easy enough to roll through it and nice to birdie the next and feel like you made up for it.
Q. You were playing with Brian today. Both you guys are from Sea Island. Looked like you guys were chatting a lot on the golf course. What's it like to play with somebody from your hometown?
MATT KUCHAR: Yeah, fun. Brian and I get along well. A lot of similarities. Play a similar game, so interesting kind of talk state of the game right now, whether it's LIV versus PGA TOUR, whether it's rolling the ball back. Just lots of conversations, and then kind of fun conversations.
We both have such an appreciation for this place, as well. We kind of walked off so many holes going what a great hole this is and just a fun event, as well.
Q. For tomorrow, what's kind of the mindset or the goal as you get ready for tomorrow?
MATT KUCHAR: I don't change much. You try to play the best shot for the situation regardless of kind of where you stand on the leaderboard.
I don't really focus too much. I think it would be great to go out and shoot 62, but I think you'd love to do that every day. You just don't wake up and go, all right, today I'm going to shoot 62. I think those things kind of happen. It's nice when they happen at a great time when you need it, but listen, I go out and try to play the first hole the best I can, and it's very simple.
That's kind of the game plan.
Q. I want to ask you about Jimmy. He obviously took some time off. Your thoughts on him being back?
MATT KUCHAR: Very exciting. Everybody loves Jimmy Walker. He's a great guy. Certainly tons of talent we know, winning the PGA Championship. He's been a good player for a long time. It looked like he may be done with the game of golf, and it kind of shows you just what a unique game we play that all of a sudden he's back and he's on top of the leaderboard. It's a great story.
